KEN SEALS

Born in Austin, Texas,
Ken Seals was raised in Dodge City, Kansas

He attended the prestigious
University of Missouri School of Journalism,
graduating in 1966 with a Bachelor in Journalism

Alumni from the University include
Carol Simpson, Brian Ross, and Elizabeth Vargas,
all of whom serve with ABC News

Also, Jann Carl,
co-anchor of Entertainment Tonight,
as well as photojournalists
now shooting for National Geographic
and other international publications

Ken's career in photography began as a U.S. Army Photography instructor. He then served as a photographer for the Army in Korea
during 1968 & 1969

Upon returning home, Ken began his newspaper career as a staff photographer at the Lawrence Journal World in Lawrence, Kansas,
where he remained for 5 years

And then, pursuing the path of the renaissance man, Ken became a professional pilot in corporate aviation. He is currently Director of Flight Operations for Avjet, a corporate aircraft company

Ken and his wife, Lauren, moved to Fallbrook
in 1993.
He  now commutes to work in
Burbank piloting his private airplane

With the advent of digital photography, Ken has rediscovered his original passion. He notes his appreciation for "the software now available to process images in a way that gives
the photographer so much more control
over 'the look' of the final photograph"

Not content to rest on his laurels,
Ken continues to seek more artistic ways
to photograph subjects that interest him
