A Letter From Jan McCormick

Jan McCormick,
of Pala Mesa Resort,
Pens a Letter of Support

In June 2005, community organizations from Fallbrook applied to the County of San Diego for 2005 / 2006 Community Enhancement grants. To bolster Fallbrook's cause before the County, the Village Association requested a letter of support from Pala Mesa Resort.
The resulting letter is reprinted below

[ Support For Tourism Promotion ]

To: Vince Ross
Fallbrook Village Association

From: Jan McCormick
Pala Mesa Resort

Dear Vince,

As you know, Pala Mesa Resort is an avid supporter of the Fallbrook Village Association and its efforts, in conjunction with the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce, to promote tourism in our area

The decision to commission Destination Development, Inc.
to formulate a "Tourism Development and Marketing Plan"
was a great first step. Having personally participated in those early
town hall meetings, I can say without hesitation
that the recommendations brought forth
in the marketing plan are "dead on"

Fallbrook's past efforts to promote tourism have been hit-or-miss, so when we heard of the Village Association and Chamber plans to promote tourism, we were ecstatic. As you know, Pala Mesa recently underwent a $10 million dollar renovation and in our second phase of development we plan to expand meeting space, add 125-150 new guest rooms and add a Spa. To support these expansion plans, we must have strong support and commitment from the Village to promote tourism

[ Importance Of The Arts ]

Fallbrook's growing community of artists and galleries, not to mention the Art Center, serve as the perfect backdrop for a thriving "arts education" program. By promoting "cultural tourism" through "arts education," we believe Fallbrook can re-invent itself, providing what could one day become the principle means for community revitalization and long-term enrichment

Advancement of the arts will not only encourage more community participation, but will also increase tourism dollars and jobs. By spotlighting the arts, we will not only enhance Fallbrook's identity, but also economic vitality and community pride

[ Partnering & Support ]

Please count on us to do whatever we can to support you in your quest for Community Enhancement funds or any other grants that the Village can qualify for. We believe tourism is not only vital to Pala Mesa's financial success, but it is vital to Fallbrook's
long term financial health, as well

Sincerely,

Jan McCormick
General Manager
Pala Mesa Resort

[Editor's note: Jan McCormick serves as General Manager for Pala Mesa Resort.
