Designed as an outdoor complement to the
month-long presentation of the Art Center At Fallbrook:
ART OF THE FLOWER
THE SHOW
the Festival celebrated the flower in its many incarnations:
art, food, weddings, and - naturally - gardens

Held at the intersection of Main and Alvarado Streets,
in the historic Heart of the Village shopping district,
the Festival offered up a meandering display of art, Wedding florals,
presentations by Fallbrook's leading nurseries, and more art

In addition, Fallbrook's quaint shops presented
sidewalk displays of floral-related merchandise and gifts

Highlighting the event were artists' demonstrations
throughout the day, including glass blowing
(which proved to be the hands-down crowd pleaser),
flower arranging, painting, and pot throwing

Rally For Children also provided arts activities for children

Children of all ages enjoyed the horse carriage rides,
transporting them between the Art Center on Main Street
and the Art Studios on Alvarado Street

Music floated throughout the Festival, as a succession
of players of flute, clarinet, dulcimer, harp and guitar entertained visitors

Festival-goers were encouraged to partake in the offerings of Fallbrook's gourmet bistros, and did so heartily. Restaurants made their contributions to the event by serving floral-themed dishes, such as squash-blossom soup and society garlic flower salad

The fabled Village Square was the site of the Festival's offerings
of wine, microbrewery fare, and mellow musicians

Topping off highlights of the event was the first in a series of annual Art Of The Flower festival posters. The inaugural 2005 poster was painted by Fallbrook artist, Robin Erickson. The poster continues
to be for sale at the Art Center At Fallbrook,
as well as in select shops on Main Street
