OF
THE
FLOWER April 3, 2005 |[ A Star Is Born ]| The
Art Festival is designed as an
outdoor complement The Festival will celebrate the flower in its many incarnations, including art, food, weddings, and - naturally - gardens Main
Street and Alvarado Street will be closed in the historic Heart of the
Village shopping district, in order to present flower displays, landscape
features, and the floral works of local and regional artists. In addition,
Fallbrook's quaint shops will present sidewalk displays Highlighting the event will be artists' demonstrations throughout the day, including flower arranging, painting, and sculpting There also will be activities for children |[ The Art of Dining ]| Festival-goers are encouraged to partake in the offerings of Fallbrook's gourmet bistros. Throughout the day, restaurants will be serving floral-themed dishes. As an example, Aqua Terra restaurant at Pala Mesa Resort will be serving their signature Society Garlic Flower salad |[ The Art of Wine ]| The
fabled Village Square will be the site of the Festival's wine tasting. In addition to
the presence of Fallbrook Winery, serving their
award-winning reserve wines, Connections will be presenting |[ Art of The Poster ]| Topping off highlights of the event will be the first in a series of annual Art Of The Flower festival posters. The inaugural 2005 poster will be painted by Fallbrook artist, Robin Erickson. The poster will be for sale throughout the day, as well as on the Festival website |[ Green Begets Green ]| The Festival is another step toward establishing Fallbrook as a unique art community destination, situated in the surrounding flower growing region. Revenue will be used to produce future art events, promoting tourism and economic development in the Village With this in mind, the Festival welcomes sponsorship participation on 4 levels - $100, $200, $500 & $1,000. Benefits of support range from a listing in the Festival program, through an individual business sign on the Festival grounds and a gift of the official Festival poster |[ Lend A Helping Hand ]| The Festival also has need of volunteers of all stripes on the day of the event. Set up, litter patrol, information ambassadors, and the ever-popular clean-up detail at day's end. Help showoff the Village to visiting art lovers. What better way to spend a springtime Sunday afternoon?
